Preschool (2 1/2 years – 4 years)
Preschoolers are curious, imaginative, and inquisitive. They develop many new interests, abilities and needs. This is a wonderful time of exciting exploration and independence. Our Preschool classrooms vary in ratio and capacity.
The Preschool classrooms have specific schedules and daily routines that are followed. Parents can find schedules, lesson plans and newsletters posted on the Parent Board in each classroom. Daily schedules include meals, circle times, art projects, story times, learning centers, center time and outdoor time. Throughout the day there is an equal amount of teacher-directed and child-directed activities. Children are given opportunities to make choices in an environment that is safe and comfortable. Choices enable children to exercise their autonomous tendencies, to learn from self imposed consequences and to get to know the world as a place of alternatives and choices.
Teachers encourage self-help skill development throughout the day. Children learn to use utensils, button their pants, put on their socks and shoes, use words to communicate their feelings and frustrations. Our teachers encourage independence, cooperation, and respect for themselves and others.
Our Kindergarten Readiness begins in the earliest years (Infant, Wobbler, Waddler and Toddler Rooms) and builds each year into our Preschool and Pre-K classrooms (Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow Rooms) that prepare children for success in school. With this program, we are confident that each child will have an early education foundation that instills confidence, knowledge and self-assurance; giving them the building blocks for success and a lifelong love of learning.
Adventures Learning Centers curriculum is a combination of the best early childhood practices using multisensory activities to inspire adventure! Our curriculum includes, The Creative Curriculum®, the Baby Sign® program, the Zoo-phonics® program, the Get Set for School® by Handwriting Without Tears® program and the Spanish Program Trampoline™ for Young Minds.
